# How to connect Edcast to Zeno Media

Edcast is a free application that can broadcast live audio to Icecast or Shoutcast servers. Edcast doesn’t require any other software to operate , and is ideal for 24/7 live streaming environments such as streaming an AM/FM station over the internet.

  
When using Edcast, under your configuration be sure to select MP3 as the Encoder Type and Icecast2 as the server type.

Copy the stream encoder settings from your dashboard into the configuration in Edcast.
