What is Geo and IP blocking?
What is Geo Blocking?
Geo Blocking is a feature designed for broadcasters who want to control the geographic availability of their content. For example, let’s say you have licensing agreements or copyright restrictions that only allow your broadcast to be streamed in the United States. With Geo Blocking, you can limit access to your stream so only listeners within the US can tune in. This feature is perfect for broadcasters dealing with regional restrictions or simply wanting to focus on a specific market.
What is IP Blocking?
IP Blocking allows you to restrict access to your stream based on specific IP addresses. This is especially useful if you want to block certain websites or prevent specific users from accessing your broadcast.
When should you use IP Blocking? Let’s say there’s a particular website listing your stream without permission, or you have identified users who are not in line with your content guidelines. By adding their IP addresses to the blocklist, you can prevent them from accessing your station.
Log in to your Zeno Tools dashboard and navigate to your station’s settings.
Look for the Geo Blocking option under the “Stream” tab.
Choose the country, countries or IPs where you want to allow or block your content.
Save your settings, and voilà! Your stream is now restricted based on your chosen criteria.
Please note this feature is only available to Plans subscribers. To learn more and select the right plan for you, visit the 'Plans' section in your tools.zeno.fm account.
